Outreach, Communications and Engagement Coordinator
The World Ocean Observatory (W2O), a 501c3 nonprofit organization located in Maine, is seeking a part-time team member who will bring skill, creativity and enthusiasm to an integrated marketing campaign for organizational programs and partnership. Candidate will contribute to website management, marketing campaign development, social media content production, scheduling, expansion and metrics. Our ideal applicant will be collaborative, passionate about the ocean, knowledgeable and curious of web-based communications and public creations, independent and self-starting, a good writer and editor, and will have a strong Internet connection. Position is 15 hours per week; compensation is $20/hour. Work is remote; east coast USA preferable.

Possible projects may include:

•    Website audit and reorganization of site structure / design
•    Maintaining social platforms with up-to-date content
•    Researching and cross-sharing partner content
•    Researching and contacting individuals/organizations for program expansion
•    Maintaining an aggressive social media calendar
•    Managing at least one communications platform expansion campaign
•    Managing at least one program-based social media marketing campaign

Skills and interests:

•    A passion for the ocean  
•    Knowledge and experience in web-based communications and public engagement
•    Demonstrated experience in marketing programs and online content
•    Fluency with social media platforms and analytics
•    Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment
•    Good interpersonal skills
•    Ability to transform complex ideas and information into compelling messages
•    Excellent analytical skills and ability to work independently and remotely
•    Good writing and editing skills
•    Ability to give and receive feedback in a constructive manner
•    Strong, reliable Internet access
